CEO update – June 2023
From everyone at DLi, welcome to our June Newsletter. We hope you’ve enjoyed your year so far and are on your way to achieving your goals for this year. It’s been a busy first half of the year here at DLi with lots of new and exciting updates and changes to our services, as well as continually challenging ourselves to ensure we provide the best possible customer experience for you.
While I am sure you are keen to read about the many successes and good news stories from our Clients, here are a few other things I’d like to share:
- As an organisation, we are committed to meeting our Clients’ individual needs. Over the past quarter, we have expanded our range of Lifestyle and Community participation programs to ensure that we are responding to clients and their family’s needs and interests, and we have had some very positive feedback. We always like to hear from you, though, so please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any suggestions or feedback you would like to share with us
- Our Windsor Gardens Clients and their families are excited by the recent approval to renovate their homes. The $1.7m improvements are part of our larger property strategy to provide quality, contemporary places to live. While it is still early days, we are expecting Windsor Gardens to be completed by mid-2024, and plans are now under consideration for our other properties. See the story about Windsor Gardens later in this newsletter.
- Supporting like-minded organisations and the broader disability sector has seen us align with corporate volunteers, like the Essential Services Commission of SA (ESCOSA), to help upgrade and revamp some of our older SIL and STA sites. We have also engaged the team at Barkuma, an inclusive, all-abilities gardening crew, to update and maintain some of our garden spaces.
- To help improve relationships and provide much-needed respite, we are currently running a social media campaign for people to explore our STA facilities at Dover Gardens, Semaphore and Semaphore South, if you are looking for a short or long break, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team as we have flexible spaces and a team that will work to accommodate as many requests as we can.
In 2023, as well as our new and improved Lifestyle and Community Participation services and programs featured in this Newsletter, we are proud of the many achievements our Clients have accomplished so far and look forward to continuing to support everyone in their journey. To ensure we stay on track and to improve and increase our communications with clients, in this edition of our newsletter, we are proud to announce the new members of our Client Advisory Group who will provide feedback and suggestions about our services. To find out more about them, please check out the update.
I hope you enjoy our Newsletter. And please remember that your feedback is extremely important to us, so our team is here to help if you have any queries or suggestions.
Warm Regards
Samantha Hellams
